APC Set For Registration

Abuja- Garba Gadi, a chieftain of the CPC, said Thursday that the All Progressive Change (APC) was set for registration by INEC.
Gadi, who is the Chairman, Merger Committee of the CPC, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that all the three major stakeholders had concluded the rituals for the registration.
He said that the trio of CPC, ANPP and ACN had independently conducted their mandatory conventions to seal their merger into the APC.
The stalwart assured that the association had satisfied necessary constitutional and Electoral Act requirements for the registration.
"We shall soon forward the address of the new party, the names of an interim administration for the new party and application which has to be accompanied with N100 000 to INEC.''
He said that the application for the new party would contain the signatures of the chairmen, secretaries and treasurers of the affected parties for the merger.
According to him, after the APC is registered a lot of logistics will be put in place before conducting the national convention to elect substantive leaders.
"The first thing to be done is to harmonise the structures of the parties; structures at the national level to bring them together under the APC.''
While describing the last CPC national convention as a huge success, Gadi said that the resolution was unanimously accepted by the delegates.
"There must be a convention by each of the merging parties to agree that their party moved from the specific parties to accepting the name of the new party after the merger.
"Each party must also in their conventions accept the constitution, logo, flag, motto, slogan and manifestoes of the new party,” he said.
"These have been endorsed and accepted by the CPC convention, which is the same thing with ACN and ANPP,” he said.
